Can I use lubricated bearings in my Star 430 SWL Lube-Free handpiece?
Yes, you can. Many repair technicians prefer to convert Lube-Free handpieces to Lubricated versions using our ceramic bearings. While you will need to start oiling the handpiece daily, lubricated bearings often have a longer lifespan and run quieter than their lube-free counterparts. However, once you start lubricating, you must continue to do so.
What is the bearing size for the Star 430 Series?
Most Star 430 series turbines (SWL and K) use the industry-standard SR144 size (3.175mm ID x 6.35mm OD x 2.78mm Width). Our SR144TLK-C kit is a direct fit replacement. Always check if your specific model uses the narrower 2.38mm width before ordering.
Do you sell the end caps or wavy washers for Star turbines?
Yes. Star turbines rely on wavy washers (spring washers) to preload the bearings. These washers lose tension over time. We recommend replacing the wavy washers every time you install a new bearing kit to ensure proper axial load and prevent turbine chatter. We supply these as part of our repair kits.
Are your bearings compatible with the Star Solara QT?
Yes. The Solara QT (Quiet Turbine) requires high-precision balanced bearings to maintain its low noise profile. Our ABEC-7 ceramic bearings are specifically balanced to reduce vibration, ensuring your Solara QT remains as quiet as the manufacturer intended.
